Laura de Jong obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences from Leiden University, and completed her PhD cum laude at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research, where she focused on improving the prediction of individual hepatic drug metabolism to support more personalized pharmacotherapy. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher studying liver cirrhosis, with a particular interest in using in vitro models to better understand disease progression and associated changes in hepatic function. Using this information, she aims to generate insights that support more safe and effective use of medications in patients with liver cirrhosis.
